Colette Brunel (コレット　ブウルネル Koretto Buuruneru) is the Chosen One of Sylvarant, a title granted to the one who undertakes a journey of regeneration in order to revitalize the world's mana. She dislikes seeing people (and the world in general) suffering, which pushes her to succeed as her role of Chosen One. Colette is a very kind-hearted and caring individual, although sometimes dense and klutzy. In both Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, her klutziness is taken as a blessing, as her constant tripping often results in a positive effect.

In battle, Colette fights using Chakram, a ring-shaped weapon that acts like a boomerang in that when thrown it comes back to the user. In addition to using the chakram, Colette also has a few angelic attacks that attack the opponent with wings, beams from above, etc. One of her main attacks, and one of the best ways to win any battle is by using Pow Hammer. It has a small chance of turning poison. Poison Hammer will poison the enemy for the remainder of the battle. The tactic for this is to jump over the enemy when they are running towards you.
