Tales of Xillia 2
Gilland (Full name: Gilandor Yul Svent) is one of the major antagonists that appear in Tales of Xillia. He also makes an appearance in Tales of Xillia 2 in a fractured dimension as an employee of Oscore.
Gilland is originally from Elympios, the world that lies beyond Rieze Maxia. 20 years before the start of the game, Gilland was aboard the E.S.S. Zenethra, the ship that was stranded in Rieze Maxia when a hole was made in the schism. He became the leader of Exodus, the group of stranded Elympions who were trying to go back home, a few years after the incident. However, he used the group for his own designs and secretly conspired with the Elympion government to put into motion the Otherworld Reactor Plan, a plan that intended to make use of spirits and Rieze Maxians to fuel Elympios's spyrixes. For that purpose, he approached Nachtigal, the king of Rashugal, with spyrix technology and had him build the Lance of Kresnik.
He is also the uncle of Alvin. And his actual real name is Gilandor Yul Svent.
 Tales of Xillia 2
Gilland makes an appearance in Tales of Xillia 2 as an employee of Oscore in a Fractured Dimension. Having not joined Exodus, he takes a job at the company and works his way up. Specialising in providing sustainable energy for all of Elympios. It is revealed that he is holding the spirit Aska captive, bent to his will, as a source of energy. He mistakes the Alvin of the prime dimension to be that dimension's Alvin and offers to give him and the entourage a tour of his laboratories.
After being knocked out from the Alvin of the Prime Dimension, he discovers Alvin and the others in the room where Aska is being held captive and attempts to fight them. However in doing so he accidentally unleashes Aska.
Once Aska is defeated, but still alive, Aska turns on Gilland and kills him.
