Raine Sage is Genis Sage's older sister and teacher of the school house in Aselia. She is a very strict teacher but is also very kind and motherly. When Collete received the oracle it was established that she and Kratos Aurion would accompany her on the journey of world regeneration. This plan fell apart when Genis and Lloyd Irving catch up with them and join their group. Raine is also an archeologist and becomes obsessed when she find any ruins, going into a mode described by the group as "Ruins Mode". Raine is accomplished in healing arts as well as powerful light elemental magic spells. In battle, if Raine is not controlled by a human player she will usually stay away from the fight and cast spells until she runs out of TP. Raine fights with a staff that while useful for spellcasting, it isn't as effective in close ranged combat.
Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of The New World
Two years prior to the end of the world regeneration journey, Raine and Genis split up and start searching for Lloyd. Raine runs into Emil and Marta at the Martel Temple while searching for a young boy. After finding the boy at a human ranch Raine joins your party and helps you on your quest to gather the centurions core. After reuniting with Genis at the Triet ruins and getting the centurions core there, Raine and Genis decide to leave the group and continue their search for Lloyd though they both return to the party later.
