Tales of Legendia features the Linear Motion Battle System (LMBS) a familiar style of system used in the tales of series, including games like Tales of the Abyss. The battles are 2D and you control your character while the rest are controlled by AI or artificial intelligence. You have two choices for your controlled character which are "Semi-Auto" or "Manual" mode. Manual allows you to do more movements with your character including running and jumping.
